I have been wearing my hair in a sleek puff as of lately. It’s really simple and quick to maintain. I just moisturize like usual with water, Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothies, and olive oil, then I apply Eco Styler gel around the crown of my hair. I then brush the crown so that it is sleek and neat. Then I use Goody elastic headbands starting at the top of my forehead and then push back so that its nice and tight. Tip: Tie the head band so that it’s as tight as you need it to be and then cut the remainder off. Then I use another head band, left more visible than the other. Tip: The head band holding the puff will be tighter than the the other head band that is left visible. For a even more polished look you can twist the hair in the middle that will make the puff overnight, and then untwist in the morning. Viola!

I achieved my twist out this weekend by using a mixture of shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie and ecostyler gel, for the first time. I really liked the results. I first deep conditioned with a homemade banana concoction, then washed with vinegar. Then, I took small sections of my hair and ran the smoothie and gel mixture through it. Lastly, I tightly twisted it and left it that way for at least 24 hours. I unraveled each twist maybe two or three times and used a wide tooth comb to fluff the roots.

Hey queens, I shall first start by saying I am really sorry for the extended period of time that I neglected to update my blog. Trust me, I have been feeling so guilty and deprived of not being able to blog. But I promise, despite my heavily demanding schedule, I will make a tremendous attempt to update much more frequently. I appreciate, all the new users that I have acquired recently, as well as the old ones. Thank you for each and every time you view my page…..I thought I would share with you all where I am now in my hair journey. My 1 year natural hair mark was September 11th and the above photos show my growth during that time period. I am really loving the progress that I have made. In the above pictures I partially pinned up one side of my hair and let the rest free. I used a little ecostyler gel to help neatly pin the sides up. I wear my hair like this a lot actually. I find myself experimenting with styles as of lately, some that work out better than others. This one is just very simple and quick so it works very well for me. Very soon, I will share with you all the changes I have made in my hair regimen.

I discovered a couple of weeks back, to my dismay, that sometimes we have to do away with products because they may start to produce different results over time. The cause to the change may not be so clear but, it was made crystal clear to me that my ‘use to be favorite’ Root Stimulator Deep Penetrating Conditioner no longer agrees with my hair. The last couple of times I used it was a complete disaster. I called my sister in absolute despair, wondering why after thoroughly washing my hair it felt stiff and caked; only to find out she had experienced the same after effect as well. Root Stimulator Deep Penetrating Conditioner has a very thick rich consistency; I once appreciated that about the product but now it has back fired on me. The consistency seems to be so thick now that it’s almost impossible to rinse it all out of my hair, maybe due to the increased length. As a result, residue of the conditioner remains in my hair making it unmanageable, uncooperative, and all around undesirable. Where is that product now? In the garbage. Time to move on, I suppose. So the lesson here, is to not continue sticking onto your same o same o routine if you notice that your not getting the results you desire. It may be time for something to go and something else to replace. I have not yet found a replacement and honestly, I think I may do without. My oldest sister, does not use protein treatments at all. She has told me it does not agree well with her hair and that some people’s hair are just not protein friendly.
