I thought I would share with you all my weekend buys which are all to aide me fulfill my goals of obtaining amazing skin and hair growth.
1. Biotin Supplements aka Hair Growth Vitamins:
Biotin is known to be an important nutrient needed to increase hair and nail growth and health. Both hair and nails are made almost entirely of protein and biotin aides in the metabolism of protein. I deemed prenatal pills safe enough to use daily with the exception of one day a week in which I will take the biotin instead. I probably could take both at the same time but I’m not a big pill popper person.

* I bought the super potency Biotin supplements. I will start them off with once a week to see how it works for me. I am a little skeptical because I have heard about cases where it causes skin breakout or unwanted hair growth such as facial hair growth, which I so don’t want. However, I have heard even more cases where the supplements work perfectly fine and amazing satisfactory results are reported.

2. Green tea:
Green tea is rich in powerful antioxidants that improve general health and fight acne bacteria, thereby improving skin health. I bought the Organo Gold brand which allows me to get the benefits of both the green tea and the ganoderma herb. It has actually been a great buy. I promised myself I would drink a cup of this every morning and watch the benefits unfold.

*If you have any further inquiries about the Organo Gold Green Tea brand then feel free to shoot me an email @ CsonyaQT@gmail.com or leave comment.

3. Aloe Vera Oil:
Aloe vera Oil is known to stimulate hair growth. It is a great light weight oil to moisturize, condition, and seal strands. Since I am currently wearing my hair in braids I use it to seal in moisture after spritzing with my water bottle mixture and Shea Moisture Hold and Shine Spray.

Prenatal Vitamins

Prenatal pills are recommended to help the healthy development of a baby during the embryonic stage as well as help prevent risk of birth defects and miscarriages. Prenatal vitamins contain increased amounts of folic acid, calcium, and iron to balance diet during pregnancy.  This is ideal for women who are pregnant and have to meet health needs necessary for both their  unborn baby and themselves.  But prenatal pills are also taken by women who are not pregnant and/or  do not plan on being pregnant, primarily because it facilitates growth of hair and nails. The folic acid generates the production and division of cells and is therefore important to the healthy development of cells. Hair and nails are the most rapidly dividing cells and so folic acid  aides in the reproduction of those cells. Deficiency in iron can cause hair thinning and dry, limp, and  brittle hair. However, too much iron can be harmful, even toxic. Most prenatal pills contain between 27 and 60 mg of iron. It is recommended for pregnant women to have an intake of about 27 mg of iron daily as opposed to non pregnant women who between the ages of 19-50 only need 18mg and ages 51 and older need only 8mg.

Calcium plays a vital role in providing the nutrients for the formation of healthy teeth, bones, hair, and nails. Generally, prenatal pills are safe for healthy women whether or not they plan to be pregnant or are pregnant. If otherwise, it is recommended you consult with your doctor whether this dietary supplement is right for you.

*My concern is the extra dosage of iron. And so my question to you is…

Solange switched it up for her 25th birthday by bringing back the ‘poetic justice’ braids that we fell in love with earlier this year.  She partied it up at Lavo Nightclub in Las Vegas June 24th and by the looks of it, she seems like she had a great time. I am loving the braids even more than I did the first time she wore them. This is definately the look of the summer.

OMG!! She makes me wanna run to the hair store and buy a wig ASAP. LOL.Teyanna attended the Louis Vuitton Beverly Center  re-opening, last night, amongst other stars such as Lance Gross and Lil Mama. The hair is EVERYTHING. I am noticing a trend with purple highlights but I’ve never seen them worn like this.#Hot

She posed  with the host of the event, Matt Kemp. Is it just me or does Teyanna and Matt Kemp make a cute couple? I’m just now noticing how charming he looks; never noticed it before. I always wondered ‘What’s the big deal?’

Today Solange will be celebrating her 25th birthday. The trendsetter has been titled a hair icon ever since she did her second big chop and grew it out into a show-stopper fro. I just love her ‘don’t care what you think’ attitude when it comes to her music, style, and hair.

Hey Queens,

I have some exciting news to share with you all….I HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED TO LAW SCHOOL and will be relocating soon for a easier commute to and from my new school. I am super excited about this new venture that I am now embarking on. I started this blog back in December when I was in the process of applying to multiple law schools.  I continued to expand on the blog as I awaited my responses from the schools. The number of users on the site is growing steadily and so is the number of viewers. I have to say THANKS to all of you that visit the site and all of you that have supported the site by becoming members.  I have received some wonderful comments and emails from some of you expressing how the site has inspired you in one way or another.  I can’t say how incredible this year has been so far; my nephew was born, I graduated from college, my son graduated from preschool, my blog is improving and expanding, I’ve grown tremendously as a woman, I’ve been accepted to law school, I’m relocating, and I’m about to venture into a different type of independence.  God is good. Stay tuned Queens because it’s only going to get better from here.  Thanks for all your support and remember, you can also find Ladiescrown on facebook and receive daily updates on the website.

Sincerely,

Sonya
