Confidence is the courage to be one’s unique self in the face of opposing society standards. Confidence does not have to be loud or arrogant, silently it speaks volumes. Confidence does not seek approval. It does not bow its’ head as a consequence of criticism or opposition. It does not compare and weigh itself according to its surroundings. Confidence is accepting one’s flaw, imperfections, or uniqueness and realizing that they’re beautiful because they’re your own.

Our hair is just as diverse as we are. There is a number system, from type 1 to type 4, that is used to classify your hair according to it’s “kinkyness”. Type 4 hair is categorized as extremly kinky, with very tight fine curls. Because of this, type 4 hair experiences a tremendous amount of shrinkage and tends to frizz when wet. Moisture is the key to maintaining type 4 hair. Shea butter and olive oil are great moisturizing agents.
